.................... the Actor

Elimu’s early life’s experiences, living in different parts of the United States, born in Orange, New Jersey, raised in Milton, Massachusetts, and living in Syracuse, New York while attending Syracuse University have provided him with a broad outlook towards his future and his craft.

As an example of his goal orientation and focus, while at Syracuse University Elimu studied Spanish and Speech Communication with a concentration in African American studies. He walked onto the Syracuse men’s basketball team and earned a scholarship during the 1995 and 1996 season; his commitment to excellence, placed him (jersey #11) on the NCAA “Final Four” team that played in the April,1996 championship game, the Syracuse (Orange Men) versus the Kentucky Wildcats.

After leaving Syracuse University Elimu lived in New York for a brief period, gaining additional experience in acting, he then elected to relocate to Los Angeles to more precisely develop his acting career. With continued dedication within his first two years in Los Angeles he landed small parts on television shows and commercials. He spent a grueling two years in a Meisner training program while concurrently acting on major television shows, i.e., “The Shield”, “NYPD Blue”, “Arli$$”, and feature projects such as “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”, “What About Your Friends”, and “Thursday’s Child”.

The film, “Thursday’s Child”, is an outstanding example of Elimu’s creative abilities. In this production he was the lead actor and one of the producers. He was a significant contributor in many aspects of this film. He states, “To be involved in every creative facet of this film gives one a greater appreciation of the film medium. ’Thursday’s Child’ allowed me to go to places as an actor that I had not been. This film was the vehicle that further sharpened my creative skills, it was an unparalleled experience.”
